KARHU for Men
Founded in Helsinki, Karhu began as a small workshop crafting skis, javelins, and discuses from local birch before expanding into running shoes worn by legendary “Flying Finns” such as Paavo Nurmi. Renamed Karhu—Finnish for “bear”—the brand gained global recognition through Olympic success, including the 1952 Helsinki Games. Over time, Karhu introduced innovations like the M-logo (“Mestari,” meaning champion), the first patented Air Cushion midsole, Fulcrum propulsion technology, and the Ortix Fit system, combining biomechanical research and millions of foot scans to deliver balanced performance and near-custom comfort.
