For the next generation, by the next generation. J1A-MX was co-designed with the Acronym mini-boss (age 9) during the first year of the pandemic. Online school and outdoor exploration set the stage for a new kind of daily life, and these experiences led to the specific ideas and concepts that they brought to the project. Explorers of the new world will find everything they need at hand, no matter what they encounter on their daily adventures. Retaining the DNA of its celebrated progenitor*, J1A-MX is manufactured to the same exacting standards for protection, mobility, and utility as all Acronym garments. Kids specific design drivers include the removal of all potential snagging points such as external cordlocks. The centre front EscapeZipǽ features an easy-insert zipper pull for small impatient hands. The breakaway type EscapeZipǽ immediately opens at whatever height the jacket is zipped to, increasing both convenience (just pull apart from either side), and safety (immediate doffing in emergencies). Gravity pockets have been replaced with easy access forearm pockets (one of which contains a magnifying lens), and the Flak pocket includes a removable (and separately washable) liner designed for foraging and collecting.
