Rooted in outdoor exploration, the Gel-Sonoma 15-50 draws heavily from Asics’ 15-50 All Terrain Spike, which was originally designed for multi-surface running. This particular iteration caters to movement on mountain trails as well as city streets, made in collaboration with A.P.C. The upper is inspired by the 15-50 All Terrain Spike, while additional components are pulled from the first two Gel-Sonoma trail shoes. Asics’ patented Gel technology cushioning system is implemented as well to ensure a softer feel each step of the way. For the most part, the color scheme adheres to A.P.C.’s minimalist design ethos, although pops of color nod to the exuberant Asics identity by way of multicolored tie-dye laces.
