Description
- This jacket is made by "Buzz Rickson's", based on vintage jackets. The embroidery on this tour jacket, made of rayon Oxford fabric woven with thick yarn, was a special order made at the individual soldier level by a member of the U.S. Marine Corps’ 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force. Established in 1942 to support U.S. national security and respond to emergencies in the Pacific, the unit was based at Camp Courtney, Okinawa. The embroidery was produced at local shops near U.S. bases in Okinawa at the time. The right sleeve features the names of personnel transport and attack transport ships the soldier served on, while the back is densely embroidered with the regions sailed through, reflecting the intense service of the wearer. Carrying body bags, the soldier ironically called the experience “GOD‘S HELL HOLE, NEVER AGAIN.” This jacket conveys the soldier’s bitter feelings about war and duty. - Main: 100% Nylon - Lining: 100% Nylon - Fastener: TYE - Made in Japan - Model Wearing Size: 38(M) (Height 178cm / Weight 67kg)
