- This camouflage version of the Type DECK A-2 jacket is reproduced by "Buzz Rickson's", based on vintage jackets. The Navy’s A-2 deck jacket, which succeeded the N-1 deck jacket, was issued in the early 1960s and remained in service for nearly 30 years, making it a long-lasting jacket. Initially, in the 1960s, its outer shell was made of heavy cotton back satin, but from the 1970s, it was improved to a lightweight, durable cotton-nylon blend fabric that dries quickly even when wet. Along with the fabric change, the construction was also revised for easier production: chest pocket flaps became straight, and sleeve cuff reinforcements were simplified. Deck A-2 jackets made with woodland camouflage fabric were produced in the 1980s.
