In their search for a sturdy, protective shoe, 15th century monks came up with a closed version of the monk’s strap sandal, hence the origins of the Monk Strap. Interpreted here in a gritty key, this trendy take on the gentlemen’s classic features a wide strap with double Gancio buckles, and visible stitching around the vamp.
