The Skyknight from Papa Nui is another unique cap that explores the theme of post-WWII military aircraft. The Douglas F-10 Sky Knight was a Navy Marine jet fighter designed to escort B-29’s on night bombing missions over Korea in the early 1950’s. Only one of these aircraft was lost to air combat against a MiG 15. This cap was designed to honour the plane's formidable reputation! Made from charcoal black jungle cloth whipcord, it references both navy fabrications of the era, constructed with a HBT sweatband for comfort and practicality. The style is typical of early 50’s naval aviation and draws on Papa Nui's most popular cap, the Hell Cat, with a silhouette that provides maximum cover from the elements.
