Description

A rare spinning top pendant, exquisitely enamelled and engraved on each side with the French words: “Il m’aime, Un Peu, Beaucoup, Passionnement, Pas du Tout” — the traditional lover’s refrain, “He loves me, a little, a lot, passionately, not at all.” The final panel bears a delicately painted daisy, a poetic echo of the game. Set in 9kt gold. Sourced by Will Martindale, Classical Gem Hunter, a curator of historical jewellery pieces, based in Mayfair.
