Based on vintage garments worn by British Coast Guards of the past, the 40's Navy Pea Coat is a classic Mainline piece, updated from last season with the revival of the coat in Black. Though traditionally made with a soft, brushed-feel Melton wool, our Pea Coat is made from a unique wool with short fibres and high density, similar to Harris Tweed, and manufactured by the only fabric producer in Japan who can achieve this kind of texture. Every detail of this coat has been meticulously designed with longevity and craftsmanship in mind. The reinforcements on this coat – located on the sleeve hems, cuffs and pocket edges – are made from superior quality vegetable tanned leather, dyed using a rare technique that dyes the leather to the core rather than just surface level which is common with leather goods.
