FABRIC RESEARCH AND TREATMENT This sneaker takes inspiration from silhouettes celebrated by UK’s Grime culture. The premium manmade upper is combined with rubberized leather, a reinforced molded military toe cap and a tactical articulated outsole. With archival cues, like the molded rubber tongue and a ripstop transparent monofilament layer which sits above a recycled polyester, the shoe represents a blend of cultural references from Stone Island’s history. The upper also features a glitch-effect print motif of the Stone Island Compass logo. STYLE The Stone Island research and development path in the world of footwear takes the subcultural strands of the brand as a reference. The sneaker and footwear culture is per se driven by iconic models. Stone Island has chosen to define its stylistic playground by investigating some of these cultural icons.
