The process regenerates waste materials by employing vegetable tannins extracted from the cashew shell and wastewater from olive oil pressing. In addition, a "dry tanning" process is followed, which uses 30% less water than traditional leather processing. The leathers can be traced to their source and each batch is numbered with a code that certifies all the steps of the process. Vegetable tanning enhances the natural characteristics of the leather, which becomes more supple and acquires a richer appearance as the garment is worn.
