Levi’s® introduced the original riveted blue jeans, patented in 1873 for men. But in the 1930s, Levi Strauss & Co created another modern style: women's blue jeans. At the time, the idea of women wearing jeans was unconventional and even progressive. In 2017, Levi's® acquired Viola: the original Lot 401—and officially the oldest pair of women’s blue jeans in our archives. Viola Longacre, a college student in the 1930s, invested in a pair of what is believed to be one of the earliest women’s Levi’s® jeans: the original Lot 401. Our Lot 401® women's jeans marked a significant milestone in the evolution of denim and women's fashion that would not have been possible without their existence. These 1930s Viola Longacre 401® jeans are a stitch-for-stitch reproduction of the oldest pair of women’s blue jeans in our archives. They feature a high-rise cut with a straight leg and were crafted with soft, rinsed denim. - A stitch-for-stitch reproduction of the oldest pair of women’s blue jeans in our archives - A vintage '30s fit - With a high-waisted cut and straight leg - Crafted with soft, rinsed denim Style # A84730000 Color: LVC Lot 401 Rinse How it Fits - 401 - High rise - Straight leg Composition & Care - 100% cotton (organic) - Non-stretch - Button fly - 5-pocket styling - Machine Wash Cold, Do Not Bleach, Tumble Dry Medium, Hot Iron If Needed, Dry Cleaning Possible, Wash Inside Out With Like Colors - Made in Japan
