As part of the Doernbecher Freestyle program, which gives young patients the opportunity to work with Nike designers, Hailey created a backpack that shows off her one-of-a-kind heart. Squiggly lines draw inspiration from ocean waves while red hearts, which Hailey drew by hand for the inside print, represent members of her family and her love for them. Hailey's doctor joined in on the fun, drawing an anatomical heart to help explain the surgery process.
