They take to heart a philosophical Japanese concept called Ma, which explores how a pause in time or negative space can generate beauty in a way that isn't absent of anything at all, in the end. The bold expression contrasts with cues from classic archival shoes, the adidas Superstar sneakers — one of Yohji Yamamoto's favorite silhouettes. Smooth, premium leather sits atop the midsole, and Yohji's signature signs off as a final touch.
