THE DESIGN STORY Many are familiar with the saying, “don’t fly too close to the sun.” Our Fall of Icarus earrings take inspiration from the Greek myth from which it originates. Icarus and his father, Daedalus, escape imprisonment using wings made of feathers and beeswax. In his arrogance, Icarus soars near the sun, and falls to his death. Our earrings are hand-carved to resemble the man-made wings and to reflect the golden glow of the sun. Details Made in Greece, from up to 35% recyclable bronze double plated with 18 and 24 karat gold. Artfully hand-sculpted for lightweight feel. Designed with a post-back. L: 2.2cm W: 3.9cm Each side weighs 7.7 grams.
