Since nettle is easy to grow fast, and is resistant to diseases and pests, there is no need for pesticides or fertilizers. Like hemp, producing nettle requires much less water. It also improves the environment in which it grows by helping to control erosion. The long roots of nettle transport water and nutrients to the soil. Irrigation is therefore not needed.
