Description
The N-1 Field Shoe is John Lofgren's faithful reproduction of U.S. Navy boondocker boots from the 1940s. Originally designed for sailors and Marines who needed durable all-conditions footwear, the N-1 features Horween Tannery’s Natural Chromexcel leather, flipped to showcase its roughout side. Over time, the leather develops a rich patina that reflects the wearer’s use, softening and darkening with age. The boot also features a new original outsole, custom made in Japan and designed to reference WWII soles from Lofgren's personal archive. Built on a new last with authentic proportions to an original pair of boondockers, the N-1 is finished with painted eyelets, steel shanks, and resoleable Goodyear welt construction. - Built on the N-1 last - Horween Chromexcel roughout leather uppers - Custom Japanese-made outsole and heel - Heavy single, triple, and quadruple-stitched construction - Japanese steel shanksc - Embossed padded leather heel pad - 6" shaft. 1.25" heel - Goodyear welt construction - Handcrafted in Japan - Lot No. LK-042
