Wabash Engineer Boot in Burnt Burgundy Deerskin
Description
Standing at the top of the John Lofgren Bootmaker lineup, the Engineer Boot is a faithful reproduction of various vintage engineer boots, crafted entirely in Japan. Featuring a calf-length shaft and a stacked woodsman heel, the design pays tribute to classic work boots through meticulous attention to detail and expert craftsmanship. Built using traditional Goodyear welt construction with U.S.-made storm welts, each pair is finished with Vibram 705 half soles and 700 heels. This iteration is made from Japanese Ezo Shika deerskin leather. Native to Japan’s northern Hokkaido region, Ezo Shika deer are the largest of the Shika subspecies and endure harsh, snowy climates. Historically used by the indigenous Ainu people and even in samurai armor, this leather remains prized for its strength and resilience. The Ezo Shika are wild deer and the leather comes un-corrected and may feature natural imperfections and scarring. Each pair uses two layers: an oil-tanned leather lining and a wax-finished, burnished outer shell. - Lofgren 110 last - Ezo Shika deerskin outer and oil-tanned leather lining - Heavy-duty single, double, and triple-stitched construction - Japanese brass buckles - 1.75" stacked woodsman heel - 10.75" calf-length shaft - Japanese steel shank - Vibram® 705 half sole and 700 heel (USA-made) - Canvas dust bag included - Handcrafted in Japan - Lot No. LK-003
