Description
The original Brown's Beach Jackets date back to 1901, at the very beginning of the 20th century. Developed in Worcester, MA for outdoor use, Brown's proprietary "Beach Cloth" is a very special, very functional fabric made from a unique combination of a wool fleece interior paired with a water-resistant knitted cotton exterior with a very dense weave. Built for the hard winters of North America, this is a deceivingly warm fabric with excellent wind and weather resistance. Fullcount & Co. have been studying vintage Brown's Beach garments since 2007, with the goal of accurately and authentically reproducing Brown's unique Beach Cloth. After acquiring the license in 2010 and developing their reproduction fabric, Fullcount have been manufacturing Brown's Beach Jackets in Japan for the past few years, built with authentic styling and materials to Fullcount's high quality standards. The pocket shapes and overall silhouette have been slightly adjusted for functionality and wearability, without impacting the classic design of the garment. Brown's Beach Cloth is made by tightly twisting a variety of cotton threads together into a dense twill fabric, giving the shell its salt-and-pepper aesthetic, as well as its wind and water resistance. Cut in a classic shape with a three-button front that offers a silhouette somewhere between a tailored jacket and a chore coat. Finished with embossed Brown's Beach Jacket logo snap buttons, U-shaped pockets, and black piped seams. - 74% wool 26% cotton - Reproduction Brown's Beach Cloth - Cotton knit twill exterior; wool fleece interior - Two waist pockets - One chest pockets - Woven Brown's Beach Jacket label - Made in Japan
