Description
In 1951 the US Army adopted the M-51 series layered system as combat uniforms suitable for cold weather climates. The Arctic Shell Trousers originally consisted of the nylon/cotton shell and detachable 'mohair frieze' liner, and were paired with the M-51 Parka. Buzz Rickson's has faithfully reproduced the iconic M-1951 Arctic Shell Trousers in Japan, staying true to the original military spec. Crafted from a 50% cotton / 50% nylon blend, the fabric was originally chosen for its lightweight durability and its ability to repel snow - perfect for the harsh winter conditions they were intended for. The wide silhouette allows for easy layering over other garments, just as it was designed for in the field. Key features include a drawstring-adjustable waist with a zip fly and snap button closure for a secure, comfortable fit. Two side pockets, two lower cargo-style pockets, and a single rear pocket are all secured with flap and snap closures. Authentic strap detailing from the original design remains intact, and the trousers are finished with drawstring hems to adjust the fit. - M-1951 series - Arctic shell trousers - 50% cotton / 50% nylon - Talon zip fly - Drawstring waist - Snap button closure - Two side pockets w/snap & flap closure - Two lower pockets w/snap & flap closure - Single rear pocket - Original straps - Drawstring hem - Made in Japan
