Description
Kansai Yamamoto Collection: Archive (1990s to early 2000s) Item #: 11B2152 Tag Size: LL (Japan XL) Composition: Wool Made in China. Kansai Yamamoto was a pioneering and highly influential Japanese designer who shaped the 1970s and 1980s of Japanese and global fashion culture. Not to be confused with his unrelated fellow master designer Yohji Yamamoto, Kansai is perhaps best known for his collaboration with David Bowie designing the iconic costumes for Bowie's Ziggy Stardust tour. In contrast to his typical maximalism this shirt is a beautiful example of his rare understated work, featuring subtle colours and a minimalist grey grid check pattern. Made from high quality wool the fabric has a texture and finish that adds to the understated look. The shirt is in excellent condition and includes the original spare buttons on the garment tag.
