Description
RahXephon is a 2002 anime series produced by Bones and directed by Yutaka Izubuchi. It’s often compared to Neon Genesis Evangelion due to its psychological depth, mecha elements, and coming-of-age themes, but it has a distinct focus on music and the idea of tuning the world. The story follows Ayato Kamina, a seemingly ordinary teenager whose life is upended when he discovers that Tokyo has been isolated from the rest of the world by an alien race called the Mu. He comes into contact with a mysterious mecha, the RahXephon, which he can control with his voice, and is drawn into a conflict that challenges everything he thought he knew about reality, identity, and love.
