Shaun of the Dead is a 2004 British-French zombie-themed romantic comedy film directed by Edgar Wright and co-written by Wright and Simon Pegg. The film stars Simon Pegg as Shaun, an unmotivated London electronics salesman who, along with his slacker best friend Ed (Nick Frost), attempts to navigate and survive a zombie apocalypse while trying to win back his ex-girlfriend Liz (Kate Ashfield) and reconcile with his mother Barbara (Penelope Wilton) and stepfather Phillip (Bill Nighy).   Shaun’s mundane life is disrupted when the dead begin to rise and feast on the living.
