Releasing in January 2020 as part of New Balance’s BHM collection, the 997S 'Black History Month' features a navy blue finish on the upper, constructed from breathable mesh with suede overlays and full-grain leather on the quarter panel. The latter is embellished with ‘N’ branding in red and gold, complemented by gold speckling on the external heel counter. It all rides on an ENCAP Reveal midsole, which combines lightweight foam with a split-detail PU rim.
