To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Doernbecher program, Nike reissued Mike Armstrong’s Air Max 95 from six years prior. The upper construction replaces the usual leather mudguard with a patent leather application, while the majority of the shoe is decked out with a Captain America theme to symbolize a hero overcoming the odds. The shoe features a series of words in a handwritten text that includes ‘Pain,’ ‘Surgery’ and ‘Hunger.’
