Originally named the Van Doren Rubber Company in 1966, the brother duo Paul Van Doren and Jim Van Doren created the iconic Vans brand. Shortly after the company was formed, the #44 Deck Shoe arrived, now known as the Vans Authentic sneaker. The shoe features a woven canvas upper, metal eyelets, a padded footbed and vulcanized rubber outsole.
