1947 501 ORGANIC RIGID - 47501-0224
Description
- The year was 1947, the end of World War II, and the United States was in the midst of a turbulent period. The 501 jeans also underwent major changes. The rationing system ended, and familiar 501 details such as rivets on the watch pocket returned, as well as the changing times and the rise of the middle class, led to a more modern, slimmer fit and an evolution in design that stripped away excess details such as cinches and suspender buttons. The back pocket "Arcuate", which had been painted during the war, became stitched, an obvious change. The new technology of the double-needle method had made it possible to mass-produce 501 with the familiar double-Arcuate stitching of uniform size and design, eliminating variations due to differences in the sewing skills of workers. LEVI'S has reproduced the 1947 model with all these details using the highest quality selvedge denim made in Japan. - Main Fabric: Organic Cotton Selvedge Denim (12oz.
