Description
- The fabric for WAREHOUSE flannel shirts is made using old-style power looms, which now remain only in limited regions of Japan. The purpose is that the use of old-style power looms can finish the fabric without losing the unique texture inherent in uneven yarn. Similar to denim, the yarns used to weave vintage flannel shirt fabric were once uneven, irregular yarns. Weaving these yarns on modern looms with high tension produces a different fabric. The inherent qualities of the yarns are lost. By weaving on old-style power looms, the fabric can be produced without losing the unevenness inherent to the yarns. - The power loom used to weave flannel shirts is the same twill weave loom used for denim. Since flannel shirts require pattern formation, the loom is designed to be able to weave multiple colored yarns. The warp yarns move up and down in a complex motion according to the design, while shuttles with different colored weft yarns continuously alternate and move back and forth between them. The flannel woven with this characteristic old-style power loom tension becomes fabric without losing the inherent unevenness of each yarn. WAREHOUSE applies a brushing process to the reverse side of the finished flannel fabric, following the manufacturing methods of the era. This brushing creates a soft expression within the pattern. Furthermore, brushing adds fullness to the fabric, making the unique texture of old-style power loom flannel even softer. Thus, WAREHOUSE flannel, woven on old-style power looms, has a unique texture born from recreating the yarns themselves. Also, just like vintage flannel shirts from around the 1960s, WAREHOUSE uses selvedge for the gusset section. - One-washed - 100% Cotton - Made in Japan - Model Wearing Size: L (Height 180cm / Weight 72kg)
