Description
Jean Paul Gaultier collaborated with the Italian knitwear house, Fuzzi, in the 1990s and early Y2K era to produce Gaultier's iconic Maille Femme (mesh) dresses and tops known for vibrant prints and sheer, stretchy fabric. These popular pieces are now highly sought-after by vintage collectors. This dress is a great example of the work produced by this collaboration - it has a vibrant floral print and the sheer, stretchy mesh fabric that typified Gaultier's Maille Femme ready-to-wear. The dress is a pullover style with no separate closure. It has a square neckline and long sleeves that are unfinished at the wrists. The torso is lined in a black polyester knit, but the sleeves are unlined and thus are semi-sheer. The mesh fabric is 100% polyamide and can be hand-washed. Labeled size M, or 8-10 (Medium is 6-8 on some charts). This dress is extremely stretchy. MEASUREMENTS (with mesh completely relaxed) - Underarm chest measurement is 28" - Waist is 22" - Hips measure 32" - Length is about 40" down center back. CONDITION This dress is in excellent condition with no apparent flaws.
