Other DesignersASIATICA Unique Black Cotton Jacket Handmade from Japanese Fabric NWOT
Description
Asiatica is a unique retail store located in Kansas City. Since 1977, Fifi White and her colleagues have made one-of-a-kind garments in their shop from vintage Japanese kimono fabrics, contemporary artisanal fabrics from Japan, and other luxurious textiles. This jacket is made from a black fabric with a taupe-collored stitches that looks and feels like cotton. Although the fabric is unlabeled, it reminds me of fabric used in Japanese men's yukata, a form of dress that is shorter and less formal than kimono. Because fabrics for Asiatica jackets are primarily sourced from Japan, this would be a good possibility, although I can't be certain. The jacket has a mandarin collar, long sleeves, on seam pockets, and closes with two buttons that appear to be carved bone. It's lined with a black fabric that looks and feels like silk, but could be rayon (viscose). Based on the measurements, our sizing charts place the jacket in the in Large (L) size range. Please refer to the measurements for the best guidance regarding actual size and compare with a similar garment that fits you.* MEASUREMENTS - Shoulder width is 18" - Underarm chest measurement is 42" - Waist area is about 46" and it broadens a little more at the bottom. - Sleeve length is 22" - Length is 30" down center back excluding collar.
