Description
This classic early 1980s cocktail dress from the renowned Bill Blass conjures up visions of film noir heroines, supper clubs, and cynical private eyes in trench coats. The dress is structured in three layers, the top layer being an eggyolk yellow silk faille. It has shoulder pads (with bra strap holders), long sleeves, and self-covered buttons at the wrists and at the neck for closure. The torso is black silk faille twisted in the center with a zipper in back. And finally comes a black velvet pencil skirt, possibly 100% silk but more likely a silk and rayon blend. The top is double-faced with the eggyolk silk; the middle and skirt are lined with a lightweight black silk. There is no size label, but the measurements and sizing charts indicate the dress is closest to a modern size 8, based on the hip measurement. Please refer to the measurements for the best guidance regarding actual size and compare with similar garments that fit you. MEASUREMENTS - Shoulder width is 16" between seams and about 18" to outer edges of shoulder pads. - Underarm chest measurement is 39" - Waist is 31" - Hips measure 39" - Sleeve length is 23" from outer edge of shoulder pad. - Length is 36" down center back CONDITION This dress is freshly cleaned and in very sound condition with no issues to report.
