This 2006 vintage cocktail dress from Gianfranco Ferre features an ingenious use of little tucks, or pleats if you prefer, that define the empire waist and are then extended down the full length of the back of the dress until they are released at about ten inches from the bottom - it's an incredible look! Overall, the dress is a pullover style with no closure. It has a deep V-neck (also finished with the same little pleats - a motif that's repeated again at the back of the neck), satin inserts that cover the breasts, long sleeves, and a long, slender line that ends below the knee. If ever a dress were to be called "slinky," - in a good way - this one is it! The black knit fabric is viscose, and the satin inserts are silk. Labeled Italian size 42, which in vintage garments corresponds to a US size 6 or 8. Considering the degree of stretch in the fabric, it should easily work for a size 8. Please refer to the measurements for the best guidance regarding actual size and compare with a similar garment that fits you. MEASUREMENTS (unstretched) - Underarm chest measurement is 34" - Waist is 28" - Hips are 33" measured at 8-9" below waist. - Length is 44.5" fdown center back.
