Other DesignersZANDRA RHODES Rare Vintage 1970s Black Burnt Velvet Asymmetrical Cocktail Dress SM 6-8
Description
This beautiful evening dress from Zandra Rhodes is from the 1970s, when Rhodes was on the cutting edge of the London fashion revival. It's made in a bias-cut burnt velvet (devore) fabric that is probably a silk and rayon blend. The dress is sleeveless and has an asymmetrical hemline. The right side has been drawn up to the waist creating an elegant drape. The dress is black overall, but when the light catches the velvet in a certain way, it can appear to be midnight blue. The lining is a black fabric that looks and feels like silk. This dress is in remarkably good condition. If it were from a more recent decade, I might call it "new without tags." Note that the back of the label says "Do not hang." This is to maintain the shape of the bias cut fabric. Labeled English size 10 and American size 8. Because it's bias cut, the dress will conform to you shape when worn, the chest being the most critical measurement. Please refer to the measurements for the best guidance regarding actual size and compare with a similar garment that fits you. MEASUREMENTS (approximate) - Underarm chest measurement is 36" - Waist is 35" - Hips measure 45" - Length is 32.75" down center back. CONDITION Excellent condition with no apparent flaws. Possibly never worn. RETURNS Returns are accepted only if we are notified by you via email within three days after receiving your purchase. DO NOT SHIP UNTIL YOU HAVE OUR APPROVAL.
