GIANNI VERSACE Vintage Black Wool Gabardine Princess Coat

This magnificent black gabardine coat from Gianni Versace features a double-breasted design with a fitted waist and a very full skirt in back. It has medium-wide lapels with a notched collar, medium shoulder pads, and a flap pocket on each hip. The black buttons are covered with gold-tone metal filagree. The coat tapers at the waist, which accentuates the extremely full skirt on the back of the coat. The total sweep around the bottom of the coat is 96" - 28" in front and 68" in back - fuller than it appears to be in the last photo before the label. Labeled 100% wool. The style of the designer label places the coat in the late '80s to early '90s. There is no size label, but measurements indicate that it is closest to a modern size 8. For an overcoat without a size label, we deduct about three-four inches from the actual chest and waist measurements to determine size. If this coat were worn as a dress, the estimated size would be 10. Please refer to the measurements for the best guidance regarding actual size and compare with a similar garment that fits you. MEASUREMENTS - Shoulder width is 19" - Chest is 40" - Waist is 34" - Hips are free. - Sleeve length is 23" - Length is 48" down center back excluding collar. - Sweep is 96" total: 28" in front and 68" in back. CONDITION Excellent condition with no apparent flaws. The gabardine is lovely and not shiny anywhere from being pressed.
