WORLD WIDE WEB designed by Lorenzo Piazzi In 70’s and 80’s Sportswear Company, through its trademarks C.P. Company and Stone Island, rapidly establishes itself as a leader organization in the world of informal apparel. It is well-known its experimental dyeing plant department that was the first to set industrially very reliable parameters for garment dyeing. Its creative and advanced technology characteristics, updated with continuous investiments in manpower and equipment, enables Sportswear Company to come up with products of such powerful effect as to become symbols in the imagination of collectivity. In 1995 when Massimo Osti left the SI and CP brands, Sportswear Company feels the urge to explore new research and experimental ways to bring innovative fabrics and avant-garde shapes centre-stage with an unmatched technical know-how. The project is assigned to Lorenzino Piazzi who, for a long time, studied and researched the comparative systems of apparel development in civil, industrial and military areas. He also worked with Massimo Osti as “style assistant”. The first step to carry out the plan was to give it a name suitable to the evolution it was intended to suggest to the apparel world. Hence it was immediatlely evident the importance of INTERNET for a widespread communication of the project and the idea to use WORLD WIDE WEB as a trademark of this new line.
