The Air Jordan 8 “Rui Hachimura” is the signature colorway of the vintage basketball shoe worn by the NBA’s first-ever Japanese-born first-round draft pick. Rui Hachimura starred at the University of Gonzaga in the college ranks before being selected by the Washington Wizards in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft. Soon thereafter the talented forward signed a shoe contract with Jordan Brand, and designed this Jordan 8 dedicated to Japanese craft textiles. The shoe’s upper is constructed in Twine-colored cracked leather and suede. Contrasting red accents are found throughout the design and are a nod to the color of Japan’s flag. Dual Jordan and Hachimura logos are found on the red chenille tongue patch. Release date: May 23, 2022
