The Nike Air Force 1 Low “What the NY” is an ode to the Big Apple that features the uniform colors of New York City’s major sports teams applied to its mismatched upper. The design follows the same color blocking theme of the accompanying “What the LA” version of the Air Force 1 Low, only replacing the upper with the colors specific to the New York sports scene. Heavy on the blues and oranges, the mismatching motif also includes pinstripe detailing on the mid-panel of the right shoe with classic New York branding appearing on the lateral panel. The heel tabs play to the heavy sports vibes with the left shoe donning a basketball leather while the right shoe’s heel tab mirrors the fuzzy grass found on both the baseball and football fields. Graffiti-like New York branding appears on the insoles with mismatching tongue tabs, midsoles and outsoles completing the look. Release date: October 17th, 2019.
