The Nike Air Trainer 1 “Shima Shima” is the modern re-release of the earth tone colorway of the retro cross-training shoe that debuted in 2003’s “Shima Shima” collection. The Air Trainer 1 was originally released in a “Shima Shima” colorway along with a Nike Air Max 1 and Nike Dunk in the Canada and Asia markets. Here, the brand brings back the Air Trainer 1 “Shima Shima” as a solo release for the first time. True to the original design, the modern interpretation of the colorway features an all-suede construction in brown. A dark brown suede Swoosh appears on both sides of the shoe and dark brown “Nike Air” branding is embroidered on the heel. Elsewhere, a brown midfoot strap with “Nike” branding is another design element that ties back to the original release. Underfoot, the shoe features brown forefoot inserts on its cream midsole with brown speckling.
