Vintage Kansai Yamamoto “Retail Division” MA-1 Leather Bomber Jacket - Before Issey, Rei, and Yohji there was Kansai Yamamoto, an often overlooked and underrated Japanese fashion designer that was brought to the public eye when David Bowie commissioned the designer to create garments for him as Ziggy Stardust. His first showing debut was in London 1971, a full decade before Rei and Yohji, where he also gained attention from the likes of Elton John and Stevie Wonder and making him the first Japanese designer to show a collection in the fashion capital. Kansai’s designs and prints shared similarities with Asian art, often portraying two-dimensional bold graphics with rich and exuberant colors. The jacket is composed of sheep leather and features an embroidered large “KANSAI Retail Division” at the back part of the jacket. Fits Small-Medium Color: Black Condition: 8.5/10 Flaw: The Label and the Size tag have been removed, a hole beside the letter “K”. Some of the embroidered letterings are starting to detached and It also has several leather cracks on some certain part of the jacket. Please refer to the detailed pictures I posted.
