Alden for Men
Founded in 1884 by Charles H. Alden in Middleborough, Massachusetts, Alden Shoe Company stands as the last remaining shoemaker of New England’s once-thriving industry. Still family-owned and employing many second- and third-generation craftspeople, Alden is celebrated for its commitment to craftsmanship and heritage. Unlike peers who shifted to mass production, Alden built its reputation on high-quality dress shoes, custom boots, and orthopedic footwear. Today, the brand continues to produce in its Middleborough factory, sourcing fine leathers from small U.S. and European tanneries, and remains a symbol of enduring American shoemaking tradition.
