Pendant in carved sardonyx agate, featuring a low-relief “Man in the Moon" motif with a somber expression. Skillfully worked to adjust the depth of the white layer, creating subtle tonal variation and shadow. Mounted in 9kt gold. English, circa 1880. Sourced by Will Martindale, Classical Gem Hunter, a curator of historical jewellery pieces, based in Mayfair.
